Satisfy the Customer!
Food/6000® was designed to track orders and routes from start to finish - helping you to identify problems. You must respond quickly to events like stock outs, returns, price changes and changing production requirements to give your customer the best service at a lower cost to you.
Diverse Order Environment
No matter where you take orders, Food/6000® has a way to get the order in fast: telephone orders, counter sales, remote order entry using hand helds or laptop PC's and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).
Customer Service
Your customer wants you to get the order right and answer their questions right away. Order processing screens are designed for speed and ready access to needed information. Inquiries to order status, accounts receivable, inventory/lot status, product look-ups, product pricing, customer note pad, truck routing and production status are available at a keystroke. Special features handle customer returns, credits, backorders, substitutions, cancellations and special orders.
Truck Routing
Fast and easy route assignment expedites truck loading and improves efficiency. Routes are automatically built from customer route matrices. Stop sequence displays on screen with easy reassignment. An optional interface to PC based "route optimization systems" is available.
Efficient Order Picking
Warehouse layout and delivery requirements often dictate less than efficient picking methods. Our versatile picking options help maximize your efficiency. Choose from several picking methods including by order, route and slot location. Use picking tickets, case labels or a combination. Improve efficiency with batch picking rules and time standards. Special features for catch weights, substitutions and broken case items.
Reconcile Order to Shipment
Food/6000®'s unique on screen reconciliation of product ordered to product shipped combines exceptional inventory control with a fast, user friendly screen. The screen automatically asks for needed data such as catch weights and lot numbers. Users can make substitutions, back orders, cancellations, price changes and record reason codes on screen. This reconciliation can be done by order or by route.

Invoicing for a Bill of Lading
Bills of Lading are printed from data gathered during the reconciliation process. Each Bill of Lading is then filed in a queue awaiting invoicing. Invoices are edited on screen prior to printing. No double entry of data is required.
Invoicing & Route Settlement
For route delivery environments, invoices are printed by route from data gathered during the reconciliation process.
Invoices are then batched by route awaiting the route settlement process. At route settlement, drivers are held accountable for all products on board. An on-screen route reconciliation adjusts the invoice for returns and credits. Cash collections and Accounts Receivable are finalized prior to posting.
Inventory Interface
Order Entry is interfaced to Inventory to provide real time status of inventory quantities and locations. Order quantities are committed to reserved status at order entry. Users are warned on screen about out of stock conditions. When picking occurs, inventory quantities are moved from reserved status to staged status: indicating custody is passing from warehouse to driver. Inventory will remain in staged until final invoicing and posting occurs.
Taxation
Food/6000® provides flexible taxation capability for the food wholesaler. Traditional sales taxes, calculated as a percent of the sales amount, are computed. Special taxes, calculated as cents per unit, are also supported. Taxes are accrued to taxing authority liabilities in the general ledger.
Production Interface
For the food processor, Food/6000®'s order processing interfaces to the production system, providing real time communication of production requirements. Cut-to-order tickets are printed immediately in the production area for fast turn around. Production requirements to satisfy open order and inventory minimums are shown on screen for the production scheduler.
